How to Travel to Melaka?

People who want to go and experience the wonders of Melaka have a handful of options when it comes to the transportation. Visitors can travel by bus to Melaka, which is the most affordable option, as well as go by plane, taxi and car.

Travel by Bus to Melaka

A lot of long-distance express buses offer trips to Melaka through Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Seremban and Johor Bahru. Don’t worry about not knowing the place, every long-distance bus liners operate from the Melaka Sentral Bus Terminal; located roughly 4.5 kilometers from the city center. Express buses can take you to the Melaka Sentral, visitors often favor Transitional, Delima Express and 707 Express. Do take note that there are no bus stop signs found in the center of Melaka.

Travel by Bus to Melaka

Melaka does have an international airport, the Malacca International Airport. From there, it’s only a 10 km ride towards the center of Melaka. But verify is there are available flights from your area since the flights are limited. In case there is, as with almost every flights out there, the fare would be a lot more expensive compared to land transportation.

Travel by Taxi to Melaka

A couple of taxis would be available from the train station, specifically waiting for anyone who wants to visit Melaka; in case there isn’t, you’d typically find one after a few minutes of walking. It will cost you more or less RM50, but you can haggle if you want as long as it’s reasonable. We recommend that you either head straight to the hotel you booked or go to Melaka Sentral. A taxi ride would only take 40 minutes or so, depending on the traffic and weather conditions. If you have a companion to go with, then all the better since you’d split the bill.
