I like Bakemono over Mushishi

Mushishi kind of dragged... a lot. My opinion though. Mushishi is indeed a great anime but I just don't like it.

As much as I like Bakemonogatari, Mushishi. Why? No slideshows and animation is more or less consistent throughout.

If you're going to evaluate a show like this you need to get into specifics, at which point, I would assume, you would need to start talking out of your ass. We have no idea if Totoro had more work put into it than some troll series like Code Geass.

Totoro was good, as for thought... really straightforward simple anime for children.

Bakemonogatari would be aimed at teenagers and high schoolers. It's great for what it is, it was obviously though out, and it was amazingly enjoyable.

Mushishi is a seinen for college students, and older men in general. It's slow but has a lot of impact and things to think about. Obviously thought were put into all three of these, and saying which one was "more though out" would be terribly inconclusive.

I watched the whole thing. A few episodes were really great (mushi children episode, 21 if I remember), but some were seriously boring (the one with the rainbow, o lawd I fell asleep three times). It's like Bebop, 24/26 episodes are freaking amazing depending on your taste, but there's always episodes people can agree on being uninteresting (that stupid stone tablet...)

a show can be slow but still capture the audience. Good writing tends to do that.

I'm gonna use a horrible example right now cuz i can't think of any good anime example. Take note of lucky star, I dislike that show but we still cannot dismiss the fact due to the show doing almost nothing it captured and held the audience's attention.
