When you think of buying a laptop that is worth near 1k in price you think that it should run things awesomely straight out of the box!

My Acer aspire Timeline x 4820tg that arrived today, sadly has let me down.

With windows 7 pre-installed, I thought things would be fine. However it is 64-bit.
I didn't think 64-bit would be a problem untill I couldn't get many things working easily, this includes DirectX installer, itunes, Dolphin gc emulator.

It is a really sweet laptop don't get me wrong, however I want to switch to a 32-bit version of Windows 7, but there is no install disc as everything has been pre-installed.

So what can I do? Should I download and burn a copy of windows-7 32-bit, wipe my laptop and start from scratch?

Is this a good idea? Will 32-bit work much better?

>> No.13125027

enjoy your wasted ram, you little shit
my acer timeline 3810tg came with vista32bit
and this machine has 4gb of ram :|
the stupid shits, i kept saying!
anyway, fuckall... i deleted that shit the moment i got it, formatted every ghost drive and installed good'ol win7 ultimate 64bit
why the fuck would you use 32 over 64bit?

/g/, there's an open wireless network at my gym, SSID is "dlink." Usually when I see default SSIDs like that, I assume nobody bothered to change anything else like the admin password, so I usually log in to their router, change the SSID to "Beef Curtains" and change the router password or something.

WELL.

I got to the router login screen, tried "admin" as the username and left the password blank, but that didn't fly. Tried "admin" as the password too, but that didn't work.

Are there any more default router credentials to try, or is it more likely that they weren't complete idiots and changed the admin login?

Sup /g/,

I have an old Toshiba Satellite A30 with a whopping Pentium 4 2.8ghz and 512mb of RAM. Although the specs are low, I should be able to install Ubuntu.

Why wont it let me? I have tried a Live CD, which crashes. So I tested the CD in another machine, it works. So I thought the CD drive was fucked, I inserted a XP disk....it boots fine.

Hmmm I thought, ill make a bootable USB using linuxpendrive. Wont boot from USB! However Ive tested the USB and works ok. Booted my windows installation and checked the USB ports...they work fine.

Why in the name of FSM won't it let me install Linux?

Love at first site.
/g/ has prevailed. I was going to buy creative headphones.

Perfect and beats the Logitech G35's I have.

One hitch though:
Sound leaks like water though tissue paper, nor does it block incoming sound either. However thats expected because of open design.

Yeah, I like mine too. Only criticism I have is that some music requires EQ'ing to sound "right" i.e. coloured, since their frequency response is so flat.

>> No.13124983

Yeah I should have gotten the closed sets, but as loud as this place gets, there are many times which its completely empty. However, fear of closed headphones like the G35's which squeezed my brain matter into the size of a pack of cards was too much for me to ignore. It probably was just as comfortable as the AD700s, but I couldn't risk it at the time.

I'm sporting a cheapy Zalman mic, I do miss the mic ALOT that was on the G35, was very good and easy to use. But once I own this for a bit more, I may do that velcro mic mod that was posted on >>13124793

And uh no...I tried the beats at the local Mac store, didnt suit me. I do wish the cloth was that gooey stuff that was on the Bose headphones. That being said, still would purchase these again, not sure if Id migrate to the A700's.

So much anxiety went into buying these.

>> No.13124987

>>13124937
Actually, the frequency response drops off towards the lower end of the spectrum.

Easy to correct though.
